This year's event will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 10 p.m. and Sunday, August 10th at 7 p.m. at Tear-Ez. For 19 years, Tear-Ez has raised more than $68,000 for our agency through The David B. Cook Memorial Fundraiser, and so we are grateful for the combined efforts of our sponsors who have tirelessly worked to continue this tradition. We are also proud to be partnering with Mr. Gary Reams, Mr. Steve Harger, Ms. Rosita Estefen, and Ms. Nicole Summers, who have graciously donated their time to coordinate this year's event.
In addition to the two evenings of entertainment, there will be a silent auction and raffle held during the Sunday festivities. Any donations to help make this event a success are greatly appreciated, and will serve to benefit the Community AIDS Network/ Akron Pride Initiative's programs.

It’s Christmas in August as we present this sequel to “The Great American Trailer Park Musical,” which was performed as the ATFGC / CAN benefit in 2009 – but you’ll enjoy this holiday romp whether you saw the original or not! Betty, the manager of Armadillo Acres trailer park, is back, with her friends Lin and Pickles, and they’re getting ready for Christmas…but neighbor Darlene Seward wants no part of it. She and her greedy fiancé, restaurant mogul Jackson Boudreau, say “Bah, humbug!” to the Christmas celebrations, until Darlene is accidentally electrocuted by holiday lights and loses her memory -- and her Scrooge-like attitude. As visions of sugarplums dance in her head, Darlene finds herself spending time with Rufus, the redneck in the next trailer over…and Jackson finds himself confused by everything that’s going on. With three ghosts, a magic Christmas tree, a drunken drugstore Santa, and a lot of holiday tunes, Betty, Lin and Pickles help Darlene sort out her life, her relationships, and her feelings about Christmas – just in time for the holiday!
The performance will be a staged concert production; it will be performed in costume with some props, but will not feature sets, lighting effects, etc. The show is performed in two acts with an intermission.
The show was written (music and lyrics) by David Nehls, with a book by Betsy Kelso.
“The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical” is not suitable for children. Not only does it contain adult situations and language, it also casts doubts on the existence of Santa Claus.
