CANAPI's Nutrition Program educates the community at large why proper nutrition is critical for individuals living with HIV and distributes nutrient rich foods to clients receiving less than 80% of the median income in Summit and Portage Counties.
CANAPI's Nutrition Program distinguishes itself by offering fresh, organic and nutrient-rich produce, dairy and meats/proteins to our clients on a bi-weekly basis. We are able to do so through the generosity and support from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Crown Point Ecology Center, and through Nutrition Program Sponsorship donations. If you are interested in sponsoring individuals and their families to help gain control of their health, please see the Nutrition Program Sponsorship at the bottom of this page.
Positive Eating & Living
Individuals living with HIV on average burn 10% more calories/nutrients than a person who is not HIV+. With this in mind, we are excited to help people who are HIV+ have accessibility to the proper nutrients needed to maintain good health.
If you are HIV+ there are many ways to use nutrient rich foods outside of processing food for energy, including choosing foods that will counterbalance your antiviral medication side effects. To learn more about the Food Pantry or about positive eating and living, contact Debra at firstname.lastname@example.org.

***If you are lactose intolerant or a vegetarian, be sure to contact Debra Briggs directly 2 days before the next pantry date and she will make sure to provide dairy-free, high protein substitutes for you.***
Nutrition Program Sponsorship
become a sponsor
Through housing programs and a bi-weekly food pantry, CANAPI provides fresh and organic produce, dairy and raw meats as well as tips and recipes for preparing healthy meals. With these resources, clients are better able to gain control of their health.
For every $4 donated, you can provide a nutrient-rich meal to a household in need.
"Thank you so much. This is the first time I have ever been here and I was amazed. Your organization is wonderful and I hope it grows and helps prosper those who need your help. Thank you again."
