Nutrition Program

CANAPI's Nutrition Program distributes nutrient-rich foods to clients receiving less than 80% of the median income in Summit and Portage Counties. The Nutrition Program also educates the community at large why proper nutrition is critical for individuals living with HIV.

CANAPI's Nutrition Program distinguishes itself by offering fresh, organic, and nutrient-rich produce, dairy, and meats/proteins to our clients on a bi-weekly basis. We are able to do so through the generosity and support from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Crown Point Ecology Center, and Nutrition Program Sponsorship donations. If you are interested in sponsoring individuals or families to help them gain control of their health, please see the Nutrition Program Sponsorship at the bottom of this page.

Positive Eating & Living

Individuals living with HIV on average burn 10% more calories/nutrients than a person who is not HIV+.  With this in mind, we are excited to help people who are HIV+ have accessibility to the proper nutrients needed to maintain good health.

If you are HIV+ there are many ways to use nutrient rich foods outside of processing food for energy, including choosing foods that will counterbalance your antiviral medication side effects. To learn more about the Food Pantry or about positive eating and living, contact Housing and Support Specialist Alex Niemocienski at
