CANAPI's Nutrition Program distributes nutrient-rich foods to clients receiving less than 80% of the median income in Summit and Portage Counties. The Nutrition Program also educates the community about why proper nutrition is critical for people living with HIV.
CANAPI's Nutrition Program distinguishes itself by offering fresh, organic, and nutrient-rich produce, dairy, and meats/proteins to our clients on a bi-weekly basis. We are able to do so through the generosity and support from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Crown Point Ecology Center, and Nutrition Program Sponsorship donations.
If you are interested in sponsoring individuals or families to help them maintain good health, please see the Nutrition Program Sponsorship at the bottom of this page.
Positive Eating & Living
On average, individuals living with HIV burn 10% more calories/nutrients than a people who are not HIV positive. With this in mind, we are excited to help people who are HIV positive access the proper nutrients to maintain good health.
If you have HIV, a nutritious diet offers benefits beyond just processing food for energy. For example, many foods help counterbalance side effects of your antiviral medication.
